In Mr. Savethewall’s work, Kiss Me, the artist depicts an elegant career man with a toad face.

The artist is inspired by the fairy tale of the princess and the frog: the frog waits to be kissed to be transformed into a handsome prince, and then they live together happily ever after. But the story that Mr. Savethewall wants to tell us is different: with this work the artist presents us with a frog that already has anthropomorphic features, wears the typical clothes of a career man and with his big red eyes seems to approach the viewer (or his princess) in complete confidence.

As in all his works, he does not fail to send a provocative and direct message: at the beginning all women are in love with their prince charming, but as time passes, this perfect image fades and we begin to see our beloved as he was from the beginning.

Pierpaolo Perretta, known as Mr. Savethewall, is an Italian artist from Como. Mr. Savethewall didn’t start his career as an artist. In fact, he began in a world very different from the artistic one, where he also became an important manager. Over time, however, he started feeling the need for change, to finally harness his great creativity and talent. Driven by his passion for art, and in particular for street art, he decided to dedicate himself full-time to this new pursuit. In 2013, he left behind a secure and well-paid job to express his vision of the world and society through art. From the outset, Mr. Savethewall distinguished himself as a different kind of street artist. He openly declared his opposition to vandalizing walls, and for this reason, he chose not to create his murals directly on walls, but to use easily removable adhesive tape. He also uses recyclable and environmentally friendly materials, such as cardboard. This is how his stage name, which literally means Mr. Save the Wall, came to be, clearly stating his intention to protect urban decor.
